KXMD Williston 1980
This is what viewers in Saskatchewan got (as even acknowledged in the legal ID) for US stations until a few years later when Detroit became the point of origination via satellite. KUMV was NBC, KXMD was CBS with secondary ABC affiliation. Eventually KSRE (PBS) Minot extended its signal to the northwest so it could be picked up in Saskatchewan as well. And for a full time ABC affiliate KTHI Fargo was piped in via Manitoba (later switched to WDAZ Grand Forks.) I watched a lot of cartoons on these stations.

Regina TV commercials, late 1970s

Great old ads produced by the film department at CKCK-TV in Regina. Very slick looking in many cases. Watch for appearances by Northgate and Golden Mile malls, Bi-Rite Drugs, Kelly's Stereo Mart, the Ski Shop, Heinrich's Jewelers, and more.

KUMV-TV Williston, 1980

This is what cable TV looked like to subscribers in Saskatchewan until the mid-80s when they were allowed to switch the point of origination to Detroit. The memories come flooding back: the agricultural product commercials, the low-budget-looking news (especially the local Williston insert - I believe the main newscast came out of Bismarck or Minot.)
